We Americans love a comeback, and that may be good news for BlackBerry.

For years, the BlackBerry has seemed to rank right up there with bag phones in cutting edge technology. But with today's announcement, the folks formerly known as RIM hope that's about to turn around.

The BlackBerry 10 was unveiled in an event in New York City, and while some say it's too late to catch up with Apple and Android devices, others seem hopeful.

(Disclosure: I'm an Apple gal. I used to be a BlackBerry owner a couple of times over, but I had a real love-hate relationship with my device that eventually grew to be much more hate and only a tiny sliver of love. I'm talking "War of the Roses" kind of hate. That drove me straight into the arms of my iPhone, which I probably will only part with when it's replaced by another Apple product.)
