Our press box is no different than most. You'll find the latest sports news, rumors, inside dirt, and armchair-quarterbacking you would find inside any press box. The only difference is you don't need a media pass to get into ours.
Oh, and there's no snacks.
Or pre-game meal.
Or drinks.
Or free schwag.
But other than that.....you're welcome anytime, c'mon in!
The Kiffin drama didn't just happen outside with students burning mattresses. There was plenty of drama before his press conference over what was allowed, how long Kiffin would speak, and - the biggie - whether or not it could be broadcast live. Oh, boy. Take a look...
Tarkanian: NCAA is 'crookedest' organization
Monday 01-11-2010 5:36pm CT
NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Jerry Tarkanian still pulls no punches when talking about the NCAA.
The former UNLV coach said Monday he thinks the college sports governing body is "the crookedest organization in our society," drawing several laughs during a luncheon at the Downtown Tip-Off Club in North Little Rock, Ark.
Afterwards, Tarkanian said his infamous towel was the 'yummiest'.
NCAA spokesman Erik Christianson said in an e-mail that Tarkanian's comments were "off-base and ridiculous."
Tarkanian was dogged by NCAA investigations through his career and he sued the organization in 1992. The two settled for $2.5 million in 1998.
The former coach also shared more-pleasant memories, including his UNLV team's 1991 visit to Arkansas. Unbeaten UNLV was ranked No. 1 at the time, and the Razorbacks were No. 2. In front of a raucous crowd at Barnhill Arena, UNLV won 112-105.
Is it just me?

Quick, random thought...
Pete Carroll is being vilified for leaving USC and bolting for the NFL, amid questions about possible NCAA infractions.
Pete Carroll, John Calipari: What's the difference? Besides championships, of course.
But isn't that the SAME thing John Calipari did? Both seeminly knew the NCAA was hot on their tales and escaped for greener pastures.
Just pointing that out, since no one else wants to.
Mid-Court Mayhem!
Monday 01-11-2010 5:23pm CT
Kansas could've used some of these shots yesterday vs Tennessee. Then again, maybe that's why they were outplayed a short-handed, scrappy Vols team - they were too busy practicing circus, half-court shots instead of the important things...
At any rate, it is pretty impressive.
Bobby Knight Says Calipari Lacks Integrity
Friday 12-18-2009 1:03pm CT
INDIANAPOLIS (AP)—Bob Knight said integrity is lacking in college basketball and cited Kentucky coach John Calipari as an example.
During a fundraiser for the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame, Knight said he doesn’t understand why Calipari is still coaching.
“We’ve gotten into this situation where integrity is really lacking and that’s why I’m glad I’m not coaching,” he said. “You see we’ve got a coach at Kentucky who put two schools on probation and he’s still coaching. I really don’t understand that.”
Massachusetts and Memphis were both sanctioned by the NCAA for violations committed during Calipari’s tenure.
Knight, who won a record 902 games as coach of Army, Indiana and Texas Tech, did not elaborate or take questions from reporters.
More Problems for Pelphrey and Arkansas?
Tuesday 12-15-2009 12:36pm CT
Arkansas basketball players Rotnei Clarke, Jeff Peterson and Courtney Fortson may have violated NCAA rules by appearing in a local magazine section highlighting clothing options from Northwest Arkansas stores.
Clarke, Fortson and Peterson are featured in the December issue of Northwest Arkansas magazine Celebrate Arkansas, in which their photos are tied in to the promotion of local clothing retailers. Razorback coach John Pelphrey is also featured in the magazine and Clarke appears on the cover.
Contained in the publication are the players in fashion magazine-type poses with descriptions on where to buy the players' "look" as part of the caption on each photo. It appears essentially to be an advertisement, although the feature is labeled as the "cover story."
